Now available: Queue-it Shopify Connector with secure checkout validation
Shopify merchants can now run high-demand sales with Queue-it's full set of traffic orchestration tools: fair access, controlled traffic flow, bot protection, and a fully branded waiting room.
Shopify is built to handle massive traffic. But a successful big sale or product drop isn’t just about keeping your website online. It’s about creating a fair, exciting, trustworthy experience for customers.
High demand combined with low supply creates challenges even robust ecommerce platforms struggle to manage. Sales can become races of milliseconds, where bots snatch up inventory, products oversell or disappear from carts, and genuine customers leave empty-handed and frustrated.
These are challenges Queue-it has spent 15+ years tackling for thousands of brands worldwide. Today, we’re bringing that same proven fairness and control to Shopify with a secure, unskippable Shopify Connector for Queue-it.
The Shopify Connector combines Queue-it’s traffic orchestration with checkout validation inside Shopify. There are two integration options:
- Client-side JavaScript adds Queue-it directly to your Shopify storefront. It’s the simpler option for stores that don’t require API-level protection.
- Cloudflare Connector applies Queue-it protection at the Cloudflare edge, providing API-level protection for stores with a compatible Cloudflare O2O setup.
Both options include server-side checkout validation within Shopify, which verifies visitors have passed through Queue-it before they can purchase protected products at checkout. This helps prevent shoppers from bypassing the required queue through alternative cart or checkout paths.
Together, the storefront integration controls who gets access and when, while checkout validation helps ensure that protection is applied all the way through to purchase.
Regardless of how you integrate Queue-it to Shopify, your visitor experience follows the same general journey. Let’s look at a typical product drop where Queue-it is configured to protect a single high-demand product:
- Shopper arrives: The shopper lands on your storefront. Because Queue-it is only protecting a specific product, they can browse the rest of your store normally.
- Protected product: When the shopper navigates to the protected product page, Queue-it checks the rules you’ve configured and determines whether they need to enter the waiting room.
- Wait fairly: If they need to queue, the shopper enters your branded waiting room. For a scheduled drop, early visitors can be randomized when the sale starts, while later visitors join in first-in-first-out order. Visitors in queue can see information like their position, estimated wait, and progress while they wait.
- Access granted: When it’s their turn, the shopper is flowed back to the protected product page at the rate you’ve set. They add the product to their cart and continue shopping.
- Validated at checkout: Before the protected purchase can continue, checkout validation confirms the shopper has successfully passed through Queue-it. If they’ve followed the intended journey, they continue through checkout. If they’ve bypassed the queue, they won't be able to purchase the protected product.
Queue-it’s protection is flexible. You decide which pages and products to protect and configure the associated waiting rooms, rules, and events through the GO Queue-it Platform.

You can access detailed integration information and diagrams for both Shopify integration options in our Shopify Connector documentation.
Queue-it’s Shopify Connector provides three essential elements of a good launch experience, all of which are difficult to achieve on your own: fairness, engagement, and control.
- A fair shot for every visitor: The launch experience combines the randomization of early visitors with first-in-first-out access once the event goes live. It removes the speed advantage of bots, ensuring every visitor who showed up on time has an equal chance of being first in line. Queue-it’s bot mitigation features challenge and block suspicious and malicious visitors in the waiting room. Checkout validation provides a final protection layer against abuse—visitors who haven’t passed through the waiting room cannot purchase protected items.
- An engaging, transparent on-brand experience: Shoppers see their position in line, estimated wait, and progress. You can send live messages to all visitors in queue at once, and allow shoppers to receive emails when it’s their turn. The waiting room can be fully tailored to your brand and event, with videos, lookbooks, polls, quizzes, and membership sign-up forms.
- Complete control and visibility: You choose whether the waiting room activates on a schedule or based on live traffic levels, and can activate, pause, or end it at any time. You choose how many shoppers enter your store at a time and can change it as the sale unfolds, for example slowing it down as stock runs low, so demand stays in step with your inventory. Protect product pages, add-to-cart, and login, or only the products that matter most, and watch it all happen in the GO Queue-it Platform.
