Inspiring Fifty is a pan-European programme that identifies, encourages, develops and showcases women in leadership positions within the technology sector.
Throughout 2014, Inspiring Fifty asked its extended network of professionals, journalists, and social media followers to nominate those women serving as both role models and inspirations to others. Inspiring Fifty received a list of hundreds of nominees across the technology spectrum, including entrepreneurs, business leaders, academicians, and policy makers. They then filtered that list down to 150, and had a jury – comprised of women like Ellenore Angelidis from Amazon, Nina Dos Santos from CNN and Janneke Niessen from Inspiring Fifty – analyze them.
“Camilla was a natural choice for one of the Inspiring 50 Women in Tech in the EU. She has not only made significant contributions to the industry in her role as an entrepreneur, she also is actively working to create more opportunities for women and girls in tech.” said Ellenore Angelidis, Director of Diversity at Amazon and one of the judging panel
On behalf of the Prime Minister of England and Inspiring Fifty, Camilla Ley Valentin has been invited to attend a roundtable on Friday, March 6th, 2015, at 10 Downing Street to celebrate her achievements together with the rest of the fifty women.
“I am honored to be on the list and I look forward to joining the roundtable on Friday and meeting up with the rest of the fifty women”, said Camilla Ley Valentin, and continued: “The roundtable will focus on the initiatives that we think governments can undertake to improve Europe’s digital economy, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by women in technology; something that is very close to my heart”.
At the event, the fifty most inspiring European women in technology will also take part in mentoring sessions with young girls interested in entering the sector and who see women like Camilla as their role models.
